Casa da Música and Jornal de Notícias are hosting another concert in the newsroom this Thursday, 12 February, at 3.00 pm. This time, the performer is singer-songwriter Cristóvam, who will also be performing at Café Casa da Música this Thursday, 12 February, at 9.30 pm, in a free concert.

Catálogo da Natureza is a concert for piano and electronics that explores soundscapes inspired by nature, from Maurice Ravel to Francisco de Lacerda. The electronics act as an extension of the piano, broadening its expressive possibilities. A sensitive programme that intertwines memory, space and listening to the natural world.

On 14 March 2026, Casa da Música will host a Flute Marathon, bringing together flute students from vocational and higher music education institutions for performances in various venues throughout the building. Entries must be submitted via the form provided via the link by 22 February 2026.

Jean Sibelius’s work "The Four Legends of Lemminkäinen" draws inspiration from the epic "Kalevala" and Norse mythology. In a narrated concert, stories of magic, death and rebirth are explored, including the famous "Swan of Tuonela". Under the baton of Kristian Sallinen, an intense and evocative soundscape unfolds.

The Casa da Música Children’s Choir presents a programme that brings together vocal traditions from around the world. A concert celebrating cultural diversity and the expressive power of the voice as a universal instrument. An occasion to mark the start of a new year and the development of the choir’s young voices.

The ‘The Big Screen’ series opens with Charlie Chaplin’s "The Great Dictator", in a film concert that combines live music and cinema. Throughout 2026, it will feature works such as "Metropolis" and "Farinelli", exploring different formats and eras. A programme that celebrates the connection between sound and image, in a space dedicated to creativity and artistic experimentation.

Nesta “ópera sem cantor”, Hèctor Parra dá voz a uma imigrante através da flauta, explorando temas de vulnerabilidade e sonho. O programa inclui ainda obras de Ângela da Ponte, Clara Iannotta e Ann Cleare. Um concerto que investiga o som entre matéria, espaço e experiência sensorial.

From the Spanish world of Manuel de Falla to the Brazil of Heitor Villa-Lobos, this concert bridges tradition and modernity. Highlights include "O Chapéu de Três Bicos" and "Bachianas Brasileiras No. 2", and the programme also features "L’Absència" by Héctor Parra. A programme rich in colour, rhythm and expressiveness.

Casa da Música and Jornal de Notícias are launching another series of ‘Concerts in the Newsroom’ today, 8 January, at 3 pm. This first concert features Emmy Curl, an artist who will be performing at Casa da Música’s ‘Festa Raízes’ event as part of the 2026 season the following day.

The Suggia International Prize / Casa da Música is a biennial competition of the Casa da Música Foundation that celebrates the talent and international impact of the Porto-born cellist Guilhermina Suggia. Aimed at young cellists up to the age of 25, the Prize promotes technical and musical excellence, projecting emerging performers onto the national and international artistic scene.
