It is with the genius of Chaplin that Casa da Música launches the ‘The Big Screen’ series, which aims to explore the links between music and cinema – or the moving image – by combining them in diverse and creative ways, whether through more conventional formats such as the film concert, or by testing new possibilities. It is an open field of experimentation and artistic cross-pollination, where not only do the roots of cinema resonate in the present day through their encounter with music, but musical treasures previously confined to their own medium discover the expressive avenues that the screen offers them – and much more besides.
