Bohemian Rhapsody

Coro Casa da Música

Casa da Música Choir starts the season in a “wandering” spirit. Each piece portraits a person on the move, some with no clear destination, and the ideas of travel, nomadism and bohemia, plus pilgrimage and exile. These intersecting paths also materialise in the diversity of formats and eras – from the adaptation of German Lied to Spanish influences and Magyar folk music, and from the gypsy imaginary to pilgrim songs, rhapsodies and 20th-century repertoire. The “wander” begins with German Romanticism and ends with progressive rock, via a reinterpretation of the now “classic” Bohemian Rhapsody by British band Queen. The concert is conducted by Frenchman Léo Warynski, renowned for his work with the outstanding Ensemble Multilatérale and vocal ensemble Les Métaboles.
