St John Passion | Teaser

The St John Passion is one of the greatest artistic achievements in history, a masterpiece of sacred music. Two days before Good Friday 2026, we return to the score that Bach wrote for the same occasion in 1724. Drawing on the words of the Gospel according to John, which recount Christ’s ordeal and suffering on the way to the cross, the music takes us through intense emotions: pain, suffering, hope and redemption. To perform this monumental score, the Baroque Orchestra and the Casa da Música Choir will be conducted by the French maestro Léo Warynski, particularly renowned for his work with the distinguished Ensemble Multilatérale and the vocal ensemble Les Métaboles.
