Marta Infante | Opening Concert | 10 January 2026
From Falla’s Spanish folklore to the colours and rhythms of Villa-Lobos’s deep Brazil, the symphonic concert that launches the new season’s theme traces a path of resonances between tradition and modernity. The Three-Cornered Hat, featuring the Catalan mezzo-soprano Marta Infante as soloist, brings us an explosion of colour and Andalusian humour, whilst the Bachianas Brasileiras No. 2 blend German genius with Brazilian soundscapes, including the famous “Trenzinho do Caipira”. The programme also invites us to discover the expressive world of Composer-in-Residence Héctor Parra with L’Absència, a work that evokes inner conflicts inspired by the characters of the French writer Marie NDiaye.
