Resonances: Brahms
A central figure of German Romanticism, Johannes Brahms wrote four concertos for soloists and orchestra that reveal the romantic soul in all its grandeur. In this cycle, the Symphony Orchestra performs them alongside internationally renowned instrumentalists: pianists Joseph Moog and Martin Helmchen, violinists Elli Choi and Liya Petrova, and cellist Victor Julien-Laferrière. The portrait of Brahms is completed with choral and symphonic works that reflect the composer’s depth and lyricism, such as the rare Der Schicksalslied and the luminous Symphony No. 2, a true celebration of nature and romantic fulfilment.
