Subscription Orquestra Barroca
03 CONCERTS
The Orquestra Barroca subscription includes three concerts by the House’s ensemble dedicated to the historically informed interpretation of early music. For this purpose, it counts on the presence of conductors specialised in this repertoire: its titular Laurence Cummings and two highly prestigious guests, Alfredo Bernardini and Fabio Biondi. In the penetrating voice of countertenor Iestyn Davies, the Easter season is evoked with Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, a work that provides ample space for beautiful vocal solos. Concertante music will be in evidence in the programme directed by Bernardini, in an evening that brings us concertos by Pisendel, Vivaldi and Heinechen, and in which we will also have the privilege of hearing the Italian conductor as soloist on the oboe. Fabio Biondi’s return comes in a programme shared with the Remix Ensemble, and here too the conductor will be soloist in a Haydn violin concerto. A subscription that transports us to other times and puts crucial names and lesser-known figures from the Baroque and Classicism side by side.
