COMPOSER IN RESIDENCE 2026–2027
In 2026 and 2027, Casa da Música will welcome Catalan composer Hèctor Parra, one of the most creative and expressive voices in contemporary music, as Composer in Residence. Gifted with a great knowledge of orchestration, Parra has mastered the art of transforming sound into living matter, creating luminous textures and orchestral colours of immediate seduction.

Rem Koolhaas’ iconic architecture inspires dialogue between different arts and reaffirms Casa da Música’s vocation as a space for encounters and creative experimentation. It is in this spirit that Bianca Dacosta has been invited to serve as Artist in Residence 2026, reinforcing this desire to cross artistic disciplines and enrich the way the Casa is experienced.
