Michael Gandolfi The Adventures of Pinocchio in Toyland, a musical tale for ensemble and narrator

The famous adventures of Pinocchio and Geppetto serve as a pretext for introducing young children to the rich world of concert music. Fifteen short scenes revisit the moments that have made this puppet one of the most popular characters in children’s stories. Featuring a narrator who tells the story, Michael Gandolfi’s piece uses specific musical themes to represent each character, lending a vivid colour and pictorial quality to this music, written to spark the visual imagination through the sounds of a chamber orchestra.
