Touriga is a red grape variety descended from the finest Portuguese lineages. A special grape, a wine steeped in history, an ancestral memory of bygone eras that has managed to endure and thrive to this day, reinventing itself with originality. Such is also the case with Touriga, a group that draws inspiration from the past so that future generations may experience the present.

A native of Vila Nova de Gaia, Pedro Ferreira showed a deep passion for music from a very young age. He discovered fado in 2015, when he won the first edition of the “Gaia é Fado” competition, which earned him the opportunity to record his debut album. From that point on, fado became his life’s purpose.

Sandra Cristina infuses fado with a personal style brimming with passion and elegance, with an intensity that captivates any audience. A native of Leça da Palmeira, she made her official debut in 1985, at the age of 10, when a renowned fado singer from her hometown – and a friend of her father’s – invited her to sing at Clube Desportivo de Massarelos. Today she performs on stages across Portugal and around the world.

Clube do Choro – Porto pays tribute to the 80th birthday of one of Brazil's most relevant pianists, composers, and arrangers, Cristóvão Bastos, in a gathering that also features São Paulo singer Ilana Volcov.

Porto-based sextet formed by Eduardo Carneiro Dias (drums), Xavier Nunes (electric bass), João Pedro Dias (trumpet), Fábio Gil (saxophone), José Pedrosa (keyboards) and Fábio Mota (percussion), Barananu promotes a distinctive blend of jazz, disco and progressive rock within a collective approach to improvisation.

French musical Romanticism is highlighted in this programme featuring two key composers from that universe. With Harold en Italie, Hector Berlioz created an innovative piece based on a narrative poem by Lord Byron.

Now in its third edition, Bonds Festival makes its debut at Casa da Música with an all-Portuguese lineup that blends indie pop, indie rock, and contemporary jazz. Between Sala 2 and Sala Laranja, five acts will showcase the present and future of Portuguese music.

The symphony and the concerto are musical forms with a long history. The former is the fundamental means of expression for a symphony orchestra, making use of all its capabilities. The concerto, on the other hand, allows a solo instrument to be highlighted, which dialogues with the orchestra.
