Rite of Spring
This is the moment when the focus on new talent gains special importance – despite its recurrence throughout the annual programme. The Spring Rite concentrates some of the talents encouraging great hope in the future of music with diverse but aligned initiatives designed to reveal, support and pay respect to young artists making a name for themselves in various fields of music. The ECHO Rising Stars programme features the most promising international talents chosen by leading European concert venues – including, this year, the Portuguese clarinettist Carlos Ferreira. Focused on the national musical scene, the AGEAS New Talents Award decides the winner from among soloists and groups performing in afternoon recitals in Hall 2 during 2024. The Spring Rite includes concerts from the Future Rocks and Future Jazz programmes and also a special programme by the Orquestra Sinfónica featuring Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf.
