Viola Toeira, Viola da Terra, Braguinha, Viola Campaniça, Viola Braguesa, Viola Amarantina, Viola Beiroa, Cavaquinho, and the Portuguese Guitar (from Coimbra and Lisbon) are some of the members of the family of chordophones of Portuguese origin. To these, we can add membranophones, idiophones, and aerophones in this exploration of musical instruments of Portuguese origin.
