The Passion According to Saint John

Orquestra Barroca Casa da Música · Coro casa da Música

St. John Passion is one of the great artistic achievements in history, a masterpiece of sacred music. Two days before Good Friday 2026, we return to the score that Bach wrote for the same occasion in 1724. Drawing from the words of the Gospel of John, which recount the passion and suffering of Christ on the way to the cross, the music guides us through intense emotions: pain, suffering, hope, and redemption. To present this monumental score, Orquestra Barroca and Coro Casa da Música perform under the direction of French conductor Léo Warynski, particularly known for his work with the acclaimed Ensemble Multilatérale and vocal ensemble Les Métaboles.
