Soloists of the Orquestra Barroca

Café com Nata

Two cornerstones of the solo cello repertoire, separated by more than two centuries, in a single concert. Filipe Quaresma, cellist with Orquestra Barroca Casa da Música and Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique, performs Johann Sebastian Bach’s Suite No. 1 – which includes one of the instrument’s most iconic pieces – and Benjamin Britten’s Suite No. 3, written for Mstislav Rostropovich and inspired by Russian themes ranging from poignant to tragic. A dialogue between Bach and Britten, accompanied by a coffee and a pastel de nata.
