ORQUESTRA SINFÓNICA DO PORTO CASA DA MÚSICA

The principal conductor of the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, Stefan Blunier, pays tribute to the great Portuguese conductor Pedro de Freitas Branco, revisiting his discography in a concert entirely dedicated to Ravel. Pedro de Freitas Branco was one of Ravel’s favorite musicians and, in addition to recording many of his works, he made the first recording of the Piano Concerto in G major in 1932, with the legendary pianist Marguerite Long. In a program featuring such celebrated works as Pavane, La Valse, or Alborada del Gracioso, the Piano Concerto in G will be performed by pianist Martina Filjak, winner of the Cleveland Competition, among other prestigious international competitions.
