ORQUESTRA SINFÓNICA DO PORTO CASA DA MÚSICA

Founded in 1945 in the aftermath of the Second World War, Bavarian Radio’s musica viva is nowadays one of the most important forums for contemporary music in the world. This forward-looking concert series presents the most advanced compositions of our time performed by ensembles and soloists of international renown. The invitation extended to Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música to celebrate the anniversary of German composer Helmut Lachenmann and to introduce one of the great works of Emmanuel Nunes to German audiences forms the basis for this programme. The Orchestra will perform in Porto under the direction of its principal conductor, the Swiss conductor Stefan Blunier, before heading to Munich for its debut in this highly acclaimed concert series.
