Peer Gynt
The young Finnish conductor Kristian Sallinen makes his debut at Casa da Música with works by great Nordic composers. In a concert that includes Grieg’s most famous composition, the Norwegian epic that recounts the adventures of Peer Gynt, the programme opens with music by Portuguese composer Carlos Caires and culminates with one of Magnus Lindberg’s great pieces for orchestra. Tempus Fugit was written in 2017 and confirms Magnus Lindberg’s place as one of the greatest composers and orchestrators of the 21st century.
