Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra & Cristina Branco
Cristina Branco’s artistic roots lie in traditional Portuguese music, but the influences of jazz, literature, and the musicians with whom she has shared the stage over the years have given her art a universal character. With nineteen albums released – the latest in 2025, dedicated to the women José Afonso sang about – and countless performances around the world, she is a true ambassador of Portuguese culture and language. Tonight’s concert, alongside Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos, highlights the more jazz-oriented side of her repertoire, shaped by collaborations with songwriters and composers such as Mário Laginha, João Paulo Esteves da Silva, Sérgio Godinho, and, once again, José Afonso.
