Matilda Lloyd

Echo Rising Stars

Hailed as a true master of the trumpet, Matilda Lloyd has amazed critics and audiences alike not only with her technical virtuosity, but also with her ability to mould music with the fluidity and expressiveness of her voice. The programme she brings to Casa da Música is a perfect illustration of this, including in the line-up demanding pieces written for her instrument, such as Desenclos’ “Incantation” or Enescu’s contrasting “Légende”, and arrangements of vocal music by R. Glière and M. Falla. In a leap forward to the present day, we get a score by Dani Howard, a British composer who has gained international recognition in recent years.
