Martina Filjak
Martina Filjak had already won the 1st prize at the international competitions Maria Canals in Barcelona and Viotti in Vercelli when she conquered the gold medal and special jury prizes at the Cleveland Competition in the United States of America. She immediately began an international career that has taken her to the most prestigious stages worldwide and made her a regular guest with major orchestras. Her programs are always meticulously planned and extremely varied, encompassing a vast repertoire ranging from Baroque harpsichordists to Romantic virtuosos and the great composers of the 20th century. In her debut recital in Portugal, Martina Filjak even establishes an interesting connection between Romanticism and the Renaissance by including Franz Liszt’s Miserere, secondo Palestrina, a composer who fills the second part of the recital with very famous works. The pianist also performs as a soloist with the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música later the same week.
