Mahler’s Ninth

Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música

Considered by many musicians to be Mahler’s most remarkable creation, the Ninth Symphony is an expression of the composer’s love of living in communion with nature until the very gates of death. Inspired by a belief in divine transfiguration, it was the last work Mahler completed and is also the unique orchestral monument that Stefan Blunier chose to conduct in his farewell as principal conductor of the Porto Casa da Música Symphony Orchestra.
