Luísa Sobral

Cartas de Desamor

“Cartas de Desamor” is Luísa Sobral’s eighth album and marks her move towards traditional Portuguese music. Exploring new territory, this work represents a creative and emotional rebirth following a period of deep introspection. Without ever losing sight of the lyrics and singer-songwriting, the composer blends her identity with the rhythms and percussion of our culture.

The album was produced by Ricardo Dias (who has previously worked with big names such as Fausto and Vitorino) and features a number of guest appearances.

The single “Felicidade” sets the tone for this new phase: born from the beat of an adufe, the song emerges like the first ray of sunshine after a storm, celebrating the return of joy. It’s something quite different from anything I’ve done before, but that’s the magic of art—the chance to reinvent ourselves, says the artist.

Cartas de Desamor” thus stands as a celebration of reinvention, bridging the past and present of Portuguese music.
