Eliades Ochoa

A historical representative of Cuba’s great popular music, Eliades Ochoa visits us with his distinctive interpretation of son, characterized by flawless dialogues between his voice and the tres (a traditional guitar), of which he is one of the most revered performers. His latest album, Guajiro (Peasant), reaffirms the rural roots of this musician from Santiago de Cuba while expanding his influences to include bolero, Puerto Rican plena, Dominican merengue, and American blues. Ochoa’s global fame was cemented with his participation in the Buena Vista Social Club album and film, following a solid artistic journey with the Cuarteto Patria. Nearly three decades later, he showcases his creative vitality with new music that builds bridges to the future while remaining deeply rooted in his traditions, origins, and life experiences. An irresistible taste of Cuban music in a concert that also celebrates the great songs of the past.
