Il Trovatore

opera in four acts

Il Trovatore, one of Giuseppe Verdi’s great masterpieces, comes to life here in a concert performance that spotlights the sheer power of the score and the commanding roles written for the voice. Set against the backdrop of a war-torn, vengeance-obsessed medieval Spain, the opera revolves around a quartet of unforgettable characters: the aristocratic Count di Luna; the mysterious troubadour, Manrico; the impassioned Leonora; and the enigmatic gypsy Azucena, whose hidden past ignites the fatal conflict that drives the drama.
