Carlos Ferreira

Echo Rising Stars

Recognized as one of the most distinguished clarinetists of our time, Carlos Ferreira is Principal Clarinet of the prestigious Orchestre National de France. Throughout his career, he has won numerous competition prizes and has been invited to perform as a soloist with some of the world’s most renowned orchestras. His magnetic playing, combined with a profound understanding of musical styles, has earned him widespread acclaim.
In this recital, he navigates a program that spans iconic works from the clarinet repertoire, including pieces by Charles-Marie Widor and Claude Debussy, alongside contemporary compositions by Chinese composer Lanqing Ding and pianist Pedro Emanuel Pereira, with whom he forms a duo. The concert culminates in the virtuosic and vibrant Sonatina by Vladimir Horowitz, a work that blends melodic and rhythmic elements inspired by jazz and other popular music traditions.
