Easter Time
20 March – 03 April
A moment of pure elevation, with three works that evoke the mystery of Easter: an orchestral suite from Wagner’s Parsifal, a hymn to the transformative power of the human spirit; Bach’s St John Passion, a spiritual drama of breathtaking intensity; and Messiaen’s Couleurs de la Cité céleste, a sonic vision of faith and transcendental light. The festival also celebrates spring and youth, with Elli Choi’s virtuosity in Brahms’ Violin Concerto, the brilliant energy of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 1, and the creative impulse of Portuguese composers and performers.
