Casa da Música’s 20th Anniversary
Casa da Música’s 20th anniversary will be celebrated with a vibrant programme of concerts spanning various musical genres, educational activities, and a series of conferences. Among the highlights are two Easter Concerts, featuring profoundly significant yet strikingly different compositions from music history. The Orquestra Sinfónica, Coro Casa da Música, and Ensemble Vocal Pro Musica come together to perform Leoš Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass, a grandiose tribute to Slavic culture. The programme also includes Anton Bruckner’s Te Deum, a powerful expression of faith, and features the acclaimed Russian mezzo-soprano Natalya Boeva in a hopeful Lied by Max Reger. In addition, the Orquestra Barroca evokes the Passion of Christ in a special evening that opens with Vivaldi and culminates in a masterpiece of Italian Baroque: Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, featuring award-winning countertenor Iestyn Davies and the versatile soprano Camila Mandillo.
