The Queen Symphony

Orquestra Nacional de Jovens – Portugal Tour 2025

British composer and conductor of Turkish-Cypriot descent, Tolga Kashif took two years to complete his masterpiece, The Queen Symphony, based on some of Freddie Mercury’s greatest hits, including Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, and Who Wants to Live Forever, among others. Although rooted in the Western classical tradition, the symphony – premiered in 2002 and performed worldwide ever since – draws from a wide range of influences, including rock, medieval music, Romanticism, and opera. The conductor for this concert is Portuguese maestro Cristiano Silva, a former student of Tolga Kashif in London.
