Do you like to sing? And to create fun stories with gestures, miming, and colourful sounds? Then have a Singing Frog moment! We will hop from sound to sound to create a story!
It’s so much fun to play in an orchestra with our friends! Have you tried it? With your instrument, you will play faster or more slowly, loudly or softer. We will all create the magic of a cascade of sounds! Or… have you imagined if your gestures produced sounds? How could that be possible? With music, it’s easy! You will see how your movements will come to life in a different way!
Come and play, big and small! This is the game of the “giant glass French fries”, full of fantasy! Sometimes you need to switch places, but very carefully, or you might turn into a statue! This is going to be a blast!
Let’s get to know a very special musical instrument which is present in some Asian countries: the Gamelan! It’s made of wood, metal, and has dragons painted in gold! Your hands will conduct the concert… The sounds will spin around you as you command them! Here, you are the conductor!
What if, after a merry “slide” down our super special slide, we invented a fun choreography? Anyone who wants to can dance! Your steps will create your own music… Welcome to Girassons, the carousel of sounds, and have fun to the rhythm of your own movements!
As we start our journey, we will get to know each other better through fun games involving gestures, mime, rhythms, and colourful sounds… We will create a real party atmosphere and travel along with the sounds that float in the air!
What if, suddenly, water, bottles, glasses, cutlery, and other kitchen friends came together on the table and decided to play together? But… how could such a bottle symphony happen? Well, as with the best things in life, the secret is how we cooperate with everyone! Water and containers carefully combining to let this bottle music happen! Only with water, of course!
If we have waves of super glass French fries, there’s a lot of fun and exciting games we can practise. This is a special place where everyone gets into their groove… but be careful with the different sequences of movement that need to be performed! In this game, big and small, tall and short, larger and not so large can all participate!
Who’s hiding there mimicking the sound of my steps? Or do my shoes possess a certain magic when they touch the ground? Why do my gestures make a noise everywhere? Can’t I scratch my head in peace? Are there instruments mocking me? Or have my gestures gone crazy and started playing them by magic? I think it’s best to join this game and find out what’s really happening!
With some well-rhymed and mysterious magic words, we will bring pieces of paper to life and turn them into funny animated beings! Watch out for the birds that really fly and other animals that seem to gradually come out – as if by magic – from the folds of your paper… Imagination can increase your fun, and sometimes it’s right at our fingertips!
In a place like this, music can sometimes surprise us at any moment: behind a door, a window, or a corridor of a room, we can see and hear how present it is among us! On this special mission, we will search for some of these secret places to “peek” at the music happening there… But be careful! Sometimes we have to slide stealthily, and tiptoe, so the music doesn’t disappear!
In the realm of Animated Music, we will converse with musical instruments, which are eagerly waiting to be played by us! In a fun musical dialogue, animated by various timbres, rhythms, and melodies that they and we create, we will invent new music where we are all protagonists! In the realm of Stump Banging, driven by our curiosity, we often stop to listen to the sound produced by various materials around us and are amazed by the magnificent sound some of them produce! Bottles, jugs, cans and barrels, plates, cutlery, glasses, and spoons, boxes, crates, tubes, and saws… If we bring them together in an orchestra and play them seriously, OK with a bit of banging but always taking care, our party will be livelier and brighter!
This is a special laboratory where we will learn to make our own instruments using a lot of imagination and creativity. Using common and inexpensive materials, we can create instruments with good sounds and original timbres! We can even try them out by forming an orchestra with them! These are the musical objects produced by us here at Sound Factory!
On a mission worthy of a real detective, you will set off to discover clues and valuable information that will help you build your knowledge about Casa da Música. During the journey, you will have to solve some questions and puzzles with solutions you can find around you, almost always very close by! With the attention and insight of a detective, you will score points in this fun adventure… and you will become an expert in knowing the secrets of this Casa.
It’s always fun to create music on the computer. Choose your programme, let yourself be guided by the inspiration of the moment, and create a musical piece. In a few minutes, you will be transformed into a real composer! And you can always suggest and help your party friends, by sharing your ideas with them!
